ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT
Dorchester
PERMANENT POSITION
Mon-Thurs 08:30 – 17:00 and Fri 08:30 – 16:00
Salary £30, to £40, DOE
IMMEDIATE START / NOTICE PERIODS CONSIDERED
This is a rare opportunity to join an established company located in Dorchester, Dorset. You will support the Financial Controller with the day-to-day financial operations of the business. The role includes responsibility for managing the sales and purchase ledgers, performing reconciliations, assisting with payroll, and contributing to statutory and project-related financial reporting. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

2. Purchase Ledger & Creditors
3. Banking
4. VAT & Compliance
5. Payments & Expenses
6. Payroll & Employee Finance
7. Grant Management
8. Other Finance Tasks
CV will show the following:
9. Qualified AAT Level 4 (or QBE to the same level).
10. 3–5 years’ experience in an assistant accountant or similar role
11. Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
12. Familiarity with standard financial systems, ledgers, and reconciliation procedures.
13. Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
14. Strong time management and organisational abilities.
15. Sage payroll experience (desirable).
16. Experience working with WIP an advantage.
17. Clear and confident communicator – both written and verbal.
18. Able to work independently and collaboratively within a finance team.
