Offer description

Due to the expansion of our team, we are looking for a Level 2 Teaching Assistant with experience of supporting children with SEND/SEMH needs (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities / Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) to join our vibrant team at our SEND school and Pupil Referral Unit (PRU).

Alder Brook is part of the LINK Trust. The LINK Education Trust is an inclusive partnership of mainstream and special schools in Salford, where all pupils enjoy learning. Within our Trust community, we work collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes for all. Alder Brook values every individual and strives to develop the whole child. We provide a safe, nurturing environment for pupils with social and emotional needs whilst ensuring academic progress. We provide a creative, exciting and inclusive curriculum that our children enjoy, building their self-confidence and providing every child with the necessary tools to become successful in the future.

As a SEND / SEMH Teaching Assistant level 2 at Alder Brook, you will work with a group of children, providing tailored support and interventions to help children overcome barriers to learning, supporting children to thrive in an educational setting. Experience of working with KS1/KS2 is essential. The ideal candidate will be skilled in supporting behaviours which challenge, creating a nurturing environment where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

This will be a challenging but highly rewarding role. If you are skilled at building relationships and relating to children who are experiencing their own challenges, then this could be the perfect role for you.

Please note you may be required to support pupils in different settings.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to a fully enhanced DBS check.

As an authority we are dedicated to improving the lives of our residents, and as an employer we are passionate about helping individuals to thrive in their work. We are committed to developing a diverse and inclusive culture.
