Job Description Purpose of the role To support the organisation, achieve its strategic objectives by the identification of business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities. Accountabilities Identification and analysis of business problems and client requirements that require change within the organisation. Development of business requirements that will address business problems and opportunities. Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that proposed solutions meet their needs and expectations. Support the creation of business cases that justify investment in proposed solutions. Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed solutions. Support the creation of reports on project progress to ensure proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget. Creation of operational design and process design to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered within the agreed scope. Support to change management activities, including development of a traceability matrix to ensure proposed solutions are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation. Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions. Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem solving processes. Join us at Barclays as a Loan IQ Senior Tech Business Analyst, where you’ll help shape and enhance the systems, data, and processes that underpin our Wholesale Lending organisation. In this role, you’ll drive technology change that improves efficiency, accuracy, and functionality across our lending journeys while confidently partnering with stakeholders and technology teams in a fast‑paced environment. To be successful as a Loan IQ Senior Tech BA, you should have experience with: Advanced Business Analysis Capability- Experienced in leading analysis on technology change delivery programmes, involving business and functional requirement definition and the creation and maintenance of high‑quality analysis artefacts. Ideally this will be within an agile framework, working in cross-functional teams and include the use of Jira and Confluence. Strong Analytical & Critical Thinking Skills- Ability to break down complex problems, identify root causes, evaluate options, and communicate solutions effectively to both business and technical stakeholders. Confident in challenging requirements and proposed solutions constructively, building strong relationships while driving high standards and continuous improvement. Stakeholder Management- Strong relationship building skills with the confidence to engage, influence, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and adapt communication and presentation for these audiences, including senior management levels. Some other highly valued skills may include: Wholesale Lending Expertise- Experience in Wholesale Lending, with knowledge of some or all of syndicated lending, loan trading, and broader wholesale lending processes, and an understanding of operational, risk, finance, and treasury functions and interdependencies. Loan IQ Functional Experience- Hands‑on expertise with Loan IQ (e.g. agency, bilateral, secondary trading) and proven ability to translate business needs into functional designs leveraging its capabilities. Data & Integration Awareness- Experience of working on projects involving system and data integration. Experience of producing analysis and design artefacts relating to data management and integration. You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills. This role is based in Knutsford/Glasgow.
