The Role
Develop and co‑ordinate a range of activities associated with Transport for Wales' (TfW) active travel programme and support the Active Travel Network Development Programme Manager and Communications Business Partner to provide high‑quality advice and guidance to local authorities, Corporate Joint Committees (CJCs), Welsh Government (WG) and TfW colleagues in relation to active travel related projects.
Role Responsibilities
* Manage the growth and delivery of TfW's Academi Teithio Llesol training programme by equipping leaders and practitioners with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to strengthen the walking, wheeling and cycling sector across Wales.
* Manage the coordination and growth of relevant communities of practice by working with further and higher education partners to develop and share best practice, ensuring the continual enhancement of skills across the sector in Wales.
* Support WG in the management and administration of the Regional Travel Fund Programme by assisting in the development of key promotion, engagement and consultation support for walking, wheeling and cycling activities.
* Manage coordination of the development and delivery of TfW's active travel related stakeholder engagement meetings, including managing the Active Travel Officer's Group by ensuring meetings are arranged and appropriate records are kept providing a forum for sharing information & best practice.
Who We're Looking For
* Educated to degree level or similar in transport planning, geography or similar; or have equivalent experience.
* Experience of project management or project support.
* Experience of supporting the delivery of active travel related projects.
* Good understanding of the Active Travel Act (2013) and Active Travel Act Guidance (ATAG).
* Experience of presenting information to technical and non‑technical audiences.
* Experience of managing or supporting projects with the public sector and/or government officials.
Welsh Language Skills
While not essential for this role, Welsh language skills would make a great addition to your application. TfW supports anyone who wants to learn Welsh or improve their skills.
