The Role: On-Train Ticket Examiner
Location: Glasgow Central
Salary: £31,917 per annum after training (£22,147 during training)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (35 hours per week)
Shifts: Monday-Sunday, earliest start 04:19, latest finish 01:00
Training: 7-day commercial training + 2-day inductionAs a Ticket Examiner, you'll be the face of our organisation for thousands of passengers. Your mission? Deliver exceptional customer service, ensure safety and comfort, and handle ticketing with accuracy and professionalism.
What You'll Do
Welcome passengers and create a first-class experience
Check and issue tickets, handle cash and card transactions
Assist passengers with disabilities (including using a portable ramp up to 15kg)
Stay calm and proactive when managing overcrowding or unexpected situations
What We're Looking For
Customer-facing experience and confidence with cash handling
A true people person who thrives on helping others
Ability to think on your feet and resolve issues constructively
Strong communication skills and integrity in everything you doNo rail experience? No problem! We'll provide comprehensive training in customer service, commercial skills, first aid, fire safety, disability awareness, and conflict management.
