Environmental Health Officer
Wirral Council’s Environmental Health Service carries out a wide range of public protection duties including food safety, health and safety, pollution control, animal health and shellfish bed classification. This role assists in the delivery of all statutory functions of the service.
Key responsibilities
* Assist in the delivery of all statutory functions of the Environmental Health Service.
* Provide a high‑quality service to the public, the business community and external organisations.
* Maintain knowledge of Environmental Health legislation and apply it in day‑to‑day duties.
* Communicate and negotiate effectively with stakeholders, partners and the public.
Candidate profile
* Enthusiastic and motivated individual, able to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines.
* Excellent communication and negotiating skills.
* Sound knowledge of Environmental Health legislation.
* Willingness or currently working towards becoming a Registered Environmental Health Practitioner with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
* Full driving licence.
