Our client is a busy, commercially proficient, creative, and forward-thinking planning consultancy, who are looking for a Senior Planner to join their team in Sheffield. The company are close to embarking on a new journey of business development working alongside a nationally renowned environmental, and engineering company which is going to help them to grow and develop their Planning offer.
As a Senior Town Planner, you will be working on projects across a mix of sectors in a range of environments including urban and rural for clients within the public and private sectors.
Our client has a small but experienced team of planners, and as a Senior Town Planner you will be providing the following services to your clients:
1. Undertaking community engagement
2. Undertaking research and analysis and providing baseline advice
3. Preparing parameters plans
4. Preparing, submitting, and managing planning applications
5. Running planning appeals (including preparing expert witness statements)
6. Promoting sites
7. Engaging with the Development Plan Consultation process – preparing representations, attending EIPs etc
Qualifications & Experience Required
8. An RTPI-accredited degree or Masters in a related discipline
9. Chartered membership of the RTPI
10. Full driving licence
11. Commensurate experience at Senior Town Planner level
12. A thorough understanding of the UK planning system
13. Experience of development management
14. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
15. Solid report writing skills
16. Ability to liaise with clients successfully
17. Ability to work to deadlines with good time management skills
18. The ability to mentor and support more junior members of staff
Salary / Benefits
