Overview
Job summary: Our client, a leading company in the aerospace sector, is currently seeking up to 12 skilled Composite Laminators to join their team on a contract basis.
Responsibilities
* Composites lay-up for a variety of types of panels, working to tight tolerances.
* Manufacture components using a variety of composite, glass and honeycomb core materials.
* Apply various manual laminating techniques to produce high quality composite components for aircrafts.
* Work as part of a larger multi-disciplined team within an automated cleanroom environment.
* Operate with increased self-management, problem-solving, teamwork and a disciplined approach.
* Report to the section Team Leader and participate with Quality and Engineering to meet production requirements safely, on time and to customer specifications.
* Hold Approved Operator (AO) stamp for necessary operations/jobs within area and approve own work when requirements/drawings are fully achieved.
Shift and Compensation
Shifts: Early and late shifts available. Basic - Earlies: PAYE £22.23 / UMB £30.56. Hours: 06:00-14:15 (Mon-Thu) / 06:00-12:00 (Fri). Basic - Lates: PAYE £25.94 / UMB £35.66. Hours: 14:15-22:30 (Mon-Thu) / 12:00-18:00 (Fri)
Qualifications
* Previous experience in composite detail manufacture and recent experience in composite laminating.
* Experience with carbon fibre and similar materials.
* Time-Served apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a recognized allied trade (significant industry experience may be considered if these are not held).
* Good dexterity and numeracy/literacy skills; able to read and understand technical documentation.
* Good knowledge of health and safety; strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Motivated with a positive, flexible, self-driven attitude; ability to adapt and participate in training programmes.
* Willing to undergo baseline security clearance and adhere to ITAR restrictions.
