We're looking for a Commercial Manager to join our construction business in Manchester, based in Salford, North West.

What will you be responsible for?
As Commercial Manager, you will lead the commercial team within our Manchester business unit, driving the commercial performance of contracts through effective management of quantity surveying staff, understanding contract conditions, and implementing risk management and mitigation strategies.
Your day-to-day responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
1. Producing, collating, and ratifying high-level consolidated cost and expenditure reports across projects.
2. Overseeing the monthly valuation process for the region, ensuring information from commercial teams is verified, ratified, and collated.
3. Setting and overseeing the financial contingency built into projects, ensuring contingency allowances reflect the current programme position.
4. Reviewing potential contractor and supplier claims, adjudicating claims, and making settlement recommendations.
5. Finalising contractor accounts and closing out project contracts.
6. Allocating commercial resources across the region, ensuring adequate coverage for tenders, PCSA, and live projects.
7. Managing commercial teams to ensure unified strategy and standards.
8. Serving as an escalation point for Managing Quantity Surveyors when necessary.
9. Identifying commercial resource needs for projects and taking action to reassign or hire staff, balancing costs against budgets.
What are we looking for?
This role is ideal if you:
* Hold a formal qualification such as RICS, Degree, or equivalent in Quantity Surveying.
* Have experience in a senior commercial role within a Tier 1 main contracting environment.
* Have managed teams of significant size.
* Possess strong contractual awareness, including NEC, JCT conditions, arbitration, and adjudication processes.
* Are proficient in commercial reporting, capable of producing accurate board-level reports outlining the business's commercial position, risks, and opportunities.
* Have experience developing and implementing commercial strategies to enhance work-winning, growth, and profitability.
