Assistant Alternative Education Service Officer | 7336 | Temporary Contract for 12 Months | Norwich
There is an exciting opportunity to join the Alternative Education Service on a temporary one-year contract commissioning high-quality education for children who will otherwise not receive a full-time education.
The team is responsible for discharging the Local Authority's duties under Section 19 of the Education Act and will work with pupils who are mostly not on a school roll. As an Assistant AES Officer, your work will include case work, referrals, and monitoring of packages for primary, secondary, and SEND students.
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with different teams to ensure the Local Authority complies with its statutory duties concerning educational provision and pupil welfare.
With relevant experience and qualifications, you should demonstrate knowledge of children's and pupils' needs, ability to plan high-quality education packages, and the tenacity to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.
This role involves working across different teams when advocating for pupils' needs. Effective communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to develop relationships and partnerships.
