Aqilla
Business development manager

Offer description

Location: Hybrid (Remote with weekly visits to the London Office in Waterloo) The Challenge Most mid-market organisations are still wrestling with archaic, legacy finance systems. They are slow, disconnected, and frustrating. Aqilla was designed in the cloud, specifically to end that frustration. The Opportunity With 20 years of proven stability and a market-leading product, we are now layering on a high-growth 'scale-up' mindset. You get the security of an established business with the excitement of a start-up. We aren't looking for "account managers"—we need Sales Hunters who enjoy the thrill of identifying C-suite pain points and showing them a better way to work. What you’ll be doing: Closing New Business: Turning prospects into long-term partners within the mid-market space. Strategic Outreach: Navigating complex organisations to find the C-level decision-makers. Being a Trusted Advisor: Using your finance/SaaS knowledge to consult, not just sell. Scaling the Brand: Directly influencing our customer acquisition strategy as we scale. Collaborative Onboarding: Working alongside our technical teams to bridge the gap between a signed contract and a successful 'Go Live'. What you bring to the table: The Hunter Mindset: You are a self-starter who doesn't wait for the phone to ring. Mid-Market Sales Mastery: Proven track record in managing mid-length sales cycles (3–6 months) where success depends on your ability to build a business case for a diverse group of stakeholders. Pipeline Ownership: A proactive approach to lead generation, balancing the mastery of inbound qualification with the drive to hunt and secure your own outbound opportunities. SaaS/Tech Pedigree: 2 years of experience closing new business in the software space. Finance Fluency: You understand accounting principles (or can learn them fast) to speak the language of a CFO. Executive Presence: You’re as comfortable on a Zoom demo as you are in a boardroom. Presence that Matters: A commitment to building face-to-face rapport, with the flexibility to travel across the UK (and possibly internationally) to turn prospects into long-term partners. Why Aqilla? Autonomy: Whilst fully supported, our staff stay because they are treated like adults—no micromanaging, just results. Innovation: Work with a product that actually solves the problems it claims to. Scale with Us: A competitive base and transparent OTE structure designed to reward those who actively drive our expansion into the mid-market. Giving Back: 3 days a year dedicated to charitable work on us. The Basics: 25 days holiday, pension, laptop, and phone/internet expenses.
