In this role you will manage Financial Operations (AP, AR, Payroll and Credit Control) and play an active role in producing monthly Management Accounting information with commentary and analysis to support your findings. You will have proactive relationships with the business to communicate key information and to business partner with them to a high level. Supporting the Head of Finance in the management and development of the business finances. This is an R&D led manufacturing company with ambitious commercialisation plans, it is a small to medium scale business which is part of a larger group of companies. You will support on a wide range of activities to support the Head of Finance. Key responsibilities include: Own the Management Accounting process including analysing results, preparing analysis, commentary and partnering with the Head of Finance, CEO and other senior staff members on these findings. Using forecasting and financial planning skills to help the business to set budgets, analysing performance against these targets and supporting the long-term business plan. Working with the Group Finance team to improve and develop financial controls, managing company risks and broadly improve systems, processes and ways of working. Managing staff and managing their day-to-day activities in finance operations which includes AP, AR, payroll and other finance operations. Working with external advisors for tax preparation, auditing, banking and other financial needs as necessary. Candidate requirements: You will be a professionally qualified accountant holding a CIMA, ACCA, ICAS, ICAEW or equivalent professional membership, you will have at least 2 years post-qualifying experience. Experience in a finance role within a manufacturing environment or other industry sector with physical stock and inventory would be ideal, we are looking for someone who understands cost control and accounting. Management Accounting technical skills including variance analysis, writing commentary and who is used to communicating with non-finance staff members. Staff management experience is preferred although this could be a development area for someone who is a very competent finance business partner. Someone who has a wide-range of exposure, this is a small scale business and prior experience in an SME would be ideal, however, large corporate experience can also transfer across where there is a breadth of exposure.
