As a Java Full Stack Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Reference Data Engineering team, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Job Responsibilities Execute standard software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot technically
Write secure and high-quality code using at least one programming language with limited guidance
Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot considering upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
Utilize tools within the Software Development Life Cycle to improve automation and value
Apply technical troubleshooting to resolve basic complex problems
Analyze large, diverse data sets to identify issues and support decision-making for secure, stable applications
Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for developing secure and stable code and systems
Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and practical experience
Experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
Proficiency in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database querying languages
Ability to code in languages such as Java, Spring Boot, and React or Angular
Experience across the entire Software Development Life Cycle
Exposure to agile methodologies like CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes (e.g., cloud, AI, machine learning, mobile)
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
Exposure to cloud technologies
Deep understanding of Spring and Spring Boot
Knowledge of Kafka, Message Bus, MQ Services
