Serco: Secure Logistics Location: Site A (with travel UK-wide as required) Permanent, Full-Time (40 hrs/week) 07:00 – 15:30/07:30 – 16:00 £36,500 per annum £4,800 on call allowance The Logistics Supervisor oversees daily administration and warehouse operations with the core responsibility for tasking and scheduling at a secure logistics facility. The post holder ensures accurate handling and delivery of sensitive assets across the UK and NI, supervises a logistics team, and supports business functions within Serco. Key Responsibilities Supervise warehouse operations: goods in/out, stock control, internal movements, and QA. Use bespoke asset management system for tracking and reporting. Conduct QA checks at all stages of asset handling; support annual audits. Carry out manual handling, including large and sensitive items. Operate and maintain forklifts and fleet vehicles (training provided). Perform UK-wide deliveries using commercial vehicles. Administer consignment paperwork, booking systems, and customer communications. Participate in alarm call-out rota and provide emergency warehouse cover. Lead team operations, allocate tasks, and maintain operational diary. Act as first aider and fire marshal (training provided). Deputise for the Logistics Manager and attend internal/external meetings. Mentor new team members and support Operational Excellence initiatives. Requirements Strong IT skills (MS Office 365 – especially Excel). Experience in logistics, warehousing, or asset management. Good understanding of UK driving regulations (training provided). Forklift licence (Reach & Counterbalance) – desirable (training available). UK driving licence – clean. Must be able to obtain and maintain HM Government SC Enhanced clearance (intrusive vetting process; renewed annually). High level of discretion and professionalism. Additional Details Occasional overnight travel required. Uniformed role; compliance with all H&S and company policies is essential. Must complete a Level 3 Team Leader/Supervisor Apprenticeship (12 months). Flexible and committed team player, with strong leadership skills.
