In this role you will support the wider business by carrying out manual pricing tasks and answering pricing queries in regards to Bupa’s UK Insurance product portfolio, with the potential to specialise in one or more product line. You will prepare regular analyses by product distribution channels in areas such as claims and pricing.
You’ll help us make health happen through:
1. Calculation and processing of relevant manual pricing, complaints and remediation tasks options within Bupa’s UK Insurance product portfolio, with the potential to specialise in one or more product line
2. Handling the day-to-day tasks and queries within agreed SLAs
3. Following agreed processes and principles, with the application of own judgement where necessary (support available from other team members who perform similar tasks)
4. Understand and highlight issues within day-to-day processes to protect the overall team and business financial targets
5. Work closely with the wider team members to ensure team objectives are met
6. Manage individual business processes to support the wider Pricing Delivery functions and help deliver the required financial outcomes
7. Review the performance of existing portfolios and support recommendations to the appropriate Pricing Governance Committee (or UPCo) regarding the appropriate rating actions to deliver the financial plan targets and improve risk selection.
Key Skills needed for this role:
8. Proven numerical skills evidenced through previous work experience within an insurance company - essential
9. Awareness of Bupa's products and pricing across channels - desirable
10. Working knowledge of the underwriting and pricing rules used across sales channels – desirable
11. Experience of data manipulation using Microsoft Office packages, primarily Excel - essential
12. Ability to run programs within SAS – desirable but not essential
13. Good communication skills and ability to manage relationships
14. Attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines
15. Ability to manage own time and workload
