An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Southend office for a motivated and well‑organised individual to join our dynamic Research and Development (R&D) team. We are seeking a Research Coordinator to play a key role in supporting the delivery of high‑quality clinical research and innovative projects that shape the future of patient care.
This is a fantastic chance to be part of a dedicated team at the forefront of research across our hospitals and satellite sites.
Responsibilities
 * Assessment of proposed clinical research studies and assurance of their suitability for opening across the Trust, including facilitation of study feasibility, set‑up, approvals and ongoing performance management.
 * Coordination with the R&D Finance team to ensure invoicing of sponsors for all appropriate studies, ensuring timely income recovery.
 * Advice to researchers on the research application and approvals process, and liaison with external study sponsors and funders.
 * Support the Research Approvals Manager in building and maintaining communication with all stakeholders in the Trust and externally.
 * Advise and support researchers in all aspects of research, including the application process and HR requirements, and motivate and persuade researchers to ensure correct completion and submission of documentation.
 * Support the Research Approvals Manager and Data Coordinator in the preparation of regular and ad‑hoc reports to monitor standards of research governance processes, compliance with research standards, and levels of research activity.
 * Day‑to‑day line management of the co‑located Research Administrator.
Qualifications & Experience
 * Excellent communication and organisational skills with great attention to detail.
 * Ability to manage a diverse workload independently.
 * Line management experience is advantageous.
