Job Description
We are working with a highly dynamic, fast-moving consumer business based in West London that is seeking a Corporate Associate (5–7 years’ PQE) who is looking to make the move in-house as a Legal Counsel. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer trained in private practice to transition into a broad, commercial in-house role with significant exposure to senior stakeholders and business decision-making.
The role offers extremely varied work and will suit someone keen to broaden their remit beyond pure transactional work.
The Role:
Working closely with senior management and cross-functional teams, the Legal Counsel will provide commercially focused legal support across a wide range of matters, including:
* Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial agreements, including supplier, distribution, marketing and technology contracts.
* Advising on UK consumer law issues relevant to the business, including customer-facing terms and promotions.
* Supporting data protection and privacy matters (GDPR) in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
* Managing and instructing external legal advisers efficiently.
* Contributing to the development of internal legal processes, templates and best practice within a growing in-house legal function.
