Job Purpose
The purpose is to provide proactive, efficient and professional leadership of collaborative relationships with educational partners across a range of educational settings in line with contractual commitments. The role also supports an inclusive university community where people can be themselves.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
* Provide an effective and professional service to education providers and internal stakeholders in adherence with university regulations, policies and procedures.
* Ensure accurate data capture, analysis, uploading, checking and tracking of information relating to academic administration and the student record; maintain compliance with the document retention schedule, Freedom of Information and Data Protection requirements.
* Reflect on and evaluate administrative processes and contribute to External Collaborations in promoting new ideas for more effective account management.
* Plan and deliver allocated tasks, including periodic reviews, university policy, key account management, partner staff approval, adherence to contractual KPIs, stakeholder communication, operations and strategic boards, annual monitoring reviews, External Collaborations Board.
* Actively engage with internal working groups and implement agreed process changes.
* Demonstrate behaviours aligned to the University’s values.
* Keep abreast of sector developments, best practices, and undertake relevant CPD.
* Work flexibly across External Collaborations sites as required.
* Undertake additional duties as requested by the line manager and PVC External Collaborations.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, e.g., Data Protection Act 2018 & GDPR, Health and Safety, UKVI, Equality and Diversity.
* Line‑management responsibilities: recruitment and selection, performance management, professional development, motivation, health & safety, wellbeing.
* Supervise team members: motivate, support, give direction and feedback, ensure adequate staffing cover.
Person Specification – Essential Criteria
* First degree or equivalent.
* Evidence of professional engagement and CPD.
* Strong experience as a senior administrator in higher education.
* Experience of committee servicing/minute taking.
* Experience dealing with sensitive casework.
* Problem‑solving experience.
* Experience of educational working practices.
* Knowledge of UK higher education systems, processes and procedures.
* Experience analysing and reflecting on data, procedures and proposing change and solutions.
* Strong understanding and awareness of data protection, freedom of information and consumer rights legislation, ensuring compliance.
Key Skills
* Proficient in Microsoft tools.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including report writing.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Organisational and planning skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Proactive and flexible attitude to work.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Good IT skills with MS packages and databases.
