Lead Clinician
* Location: Longdon Hall School – Staffordshire WS15 4PT (Longdon Hall School is an independent specialist day school supporting children and young people aged 7–18)
* Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 FTE, dependent on experience
* Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm (term‑time only)
* Contract: Permanent (term‑time only, with flexibility around a full‑time contract that can be discussed based on personal circumstances)
* Essential: Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
Job Overview
We are looking for a Lead Clinician to manage our in‑house Clinical Team at Longdon Hall School. The postholder will work collaboratively with the school’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Regional Clinical Lead. The role is split between clinically leading the team and holding a therapy caseload, and providing line management and service development in partnership with SLT and Regional Clinical Lead. Meeting the needs of EHCP plans will be a primary focus, target‑led, via the OFG ‘all’, ‘group’ and ‘individual’ clinical ways of working.
Key Responsibilities
* Clinically lead, manage and develop the onsite clinical team.
* Hold a therapy caseload with bespoke assessment and intervention plans for students with complex profiles (autism, neurodivergence, developmental trauma, SEMH needs).
* Coordinate the line management of team members and lead on the service development of the clinical school‑based service.
* Work closely with the SLT and Regional Clinical Lead to embed clinical practice within the school.
Essential Criteria
* Allied health professional qualification or Psychotherapy/Clinical Psychology/Counselling qualification.
* Valid and up to date professional registration and membership of a professional body (e.g. BPS).
* Experience working with autistic individuals and/or those with complex needs.
* Clear and concise report writing relating to clinical and research activities.
* Experience of providing supervision and supporting a therapy team.
* Ability to work independently and dynamically in a growing and developing clinical service.
* Experience of multi‑professional work with teams or services within the designated setting.
* Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
