Salary:
2x FTE (£31,171 per annum)
0.4 FTE (£12,636.89 per annum, pro rata)
Annual Leave: 31 days per annum FTE (excluding bank holidays and up to 3 additional discretionary days over the Christmas/New Year period)
As our Skills and Employability Coach, you will deliver engaging and learner-centred education to unemployed adults, focusing on qualifications up to Level 2. The role aims to equip learners with digital skills, employability skills, and vocational knowledge across sectors such as warehousing, care, teaching, and manufacturing.
The post holder will oversee internal quality assurance (IQA) processes to ensure delivery and assessment meet internal and external standards.

Responsibilities of our Skills and Employability Coach:
* Teaching and Learning: Plan and deliver innovative, learner-centred sessions in digital skills, employability, and vocational subjects. Assess and monitor learner progress, providing feedback to ensure qualification achievement.
* Curriculum and Course Development: Design and adapt teaching materials to meet learner needs, industry demands, and local labour market trends. Ensure programs are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with employability outcomes.
* Quality Assurance (IQA): Conduct internal quality assurance activities to ensure assessment and teaching meet standards. Support assessors and tutors, providing feedback and guidance. Contribute to self-assessment and improvement plans.
* Learner Support: Create a supportive environment to help learners overcome barriers. Guide learners on progression routes into employment, further training, or education.
* Collaboration and Compliance: Work with colleagues and external stakeholders to enhance learner experiences. Maintain accurate records of delivery, assessment, and quality assurance activities.
* Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to the college’s ethos of innovation and excellence.
What we’re looking for in our Skills and Employability Coach:
* A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., Level 3 Award in Education and Training, PGCE, or equivalent).
* Assessr qualification (e.g., A1, CAVA) and IQA qualification (e.g., V1, IQA).
* Knowledge of the local labour market and vocational pathways in sectors such as warehousing, care, teaching, and manufacturing.
* Strong understanding of digital literacy and employability skills.
* Empathetic and motivational approach to teaching and learner engagement.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
