Meridian Business Support is currentlya dedicated, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Lecturer in Carpentry to join our dynamic Department of Construction & Building Services. This role offers the opportunity to teach and support learners of all ages in both practical workshops and classroom settings. Youll help shape futures, develop skills, and make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and assessment across a range of Carpentry programmes.
Design, prepare, and adapt teaching materials including handouts, schemes of work, and electronic resources.
Ensure all delivery aligns with awarding body requirements to maximise student success.
Support learners in embedding Maths and English within their vocational learning.
Provide tutorial guidance, monitor student progress, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Coordinate and support work placement opportunities.
Participate in curriculum development, course reviews, and promotional events.
Maintain industry links and professional development within the Carpentry and Construction sectors.
Comply with Health & Safety regulations and college procedures.
What Were Looking For: Essential:
Industry experience within the Carpentry and Construction sector.
Minimum Level 2 vocational qualification in Carpentry.
A commitment to delivering inspirational teaching.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
A learner-focused approach with a passion for education.
Willingness to undertake continuous professional development.
Desirable:
Teaching qualification or willingness to achieve one.
Experience in assessing and verifying vocational qualifications.
Knowledge of integrating core skills such as Maths and English into vocational delivery.
