The Dove Foundation for Global Change is an international charity dedicated to advancing access to health, education, economic opportunity, and safety for women and young people around the world.

We believe that meaningful change must happen both from the top down and the bottom up — through policy reform, grassroots action, and international collaboration. Our work spans engaging with governments, multilateral organisations, and industry leaders, while also delivering regionally focused programmes that directly impact communities. Our vision is a world where everyone has the opportunity to live a life of decent quality. To achieve this, we promote the inclusion of women in all policies.

AtThe Dove Foundation for Global Change, we believe in creating systemic impact that transforms lives — championing equity for women and girls, advancing health and dignity, and ensuring everyone has the chance to live a life of quality.

We’re looking for compassionate and committed Volunteer Interpreters and Translators to join our Legal Connect Programme, which provides discreet access to legal assistance for women facing domestic abuse or sexual harassment.

Interpreters are the bridge that makes this possible, helping survivors communicate with legal professionals, access protection, and begin rebuilding their lives.

Your language skills could be the key to helping a woman find safety, justice and hope.

About the Programme

The Legal Connect Programme is an initiative by The Dove Foundation for Global Change, piloting later this year, that provides discreet and secure access to legal assistance and essential support services for women experiencing domestic abuse or sexual harassment.

By bringing together a network of interpreters, legal professionals, and other frontline partners, the programme ensures that survivors can access help safely, confidentially, and without fear — empowering them to take the first steps toward protection, justice, and recovery.

Role Summary

We are inviting applications from people who speak 2 languages or more, with particular need for Portuguese and Spanish interpreters and translators, to assist women who are facing domestic violence and require support communicating with legal and welfare services.

This voluntary position offers the opportunity to use your language skills to help women in distress access legal guidance, protection, and other essential resources — serving as a vital bridge between survivors and those able to help them.

There is no requirement to have acted in a translator or interpreting capacity previously. Specialist training will be provided to help you approach and support women in these sensitive situations with confidence, empathy, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

* Translate documents and communications between English and other languages as required.
* Provide accurate and confidential live interpretation during client consultations or meetings.
* Support clients and legal professionals to ensure information is conveyed clearly and sensitively.
* Adhere to safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection protocols at all times.

Candidate Profile

* Based in the UK, with reliable internet access and availability for scheduled duty hours.
* Fluency in English and at least one additional language (Portuguese and Spanish especially welcome).
* There is no requirement to have acted in a translator or interpreting capacity previously. Specialist training will be provided to equip volunteers with the skills to approach and support women in these sensitive situations effectively.
* Experience in translation, interpretation, social work, counselling, or legal support is an advantage, though not essential.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with empathy, professionalism, and discretion.
* Commitment to supporting women’s safety, dignity, and access to justice.

What We Offer

* Full training and ongoing supervision.
* Flexible, remote volunteering within a structured duty schedule.
* Opportunity to gain practical experience in case coordination and victim support.
* The chance to make a direct, meaningful contribution to improving access to justice for women and girls.
