About the role
As a growing business we are looking for a professional Quantity Surveyor to join our fantastic Commercial team. You will support with the development, implementation and management of all commercial activities and controls, taking ownership for the implementation of the group commercial strategy for the business unit you are assigned to. Ultimately, helping to maximise the profitability of the business unit whilst ensuring the Ipsum values are upheld. This is a full-time permanent role based from any of our offices in Wakefield, Chorley or Manchester with hybrid working available and regular travel to our sites.
As a Quantity Surveyor you will
Manage contract/project performance including CVR reviews.
Review contracts and support with mitigating risk.
Report on and challenge performance for project cashflows and profitability.
Subcontractor management.
Preparation and review of subcontract documents and assessment of quotations for onboarding.
Manage and track project changes, variations and/or notices.
Assess and value variations and compensation events.
Support the Commercial Manager with ad hoc projects and continuous improvement of business processes.
Prepare and submit interim valuations and payment applications to clients, along with the agreement of final accounts.
Attend risk review, progress and commercial meetings on-site with the Client.
Be actively involved with tenders and pricing.
Support the operational team in daily commercial and contractual aspects.
About you
We are looking for someone who is confident and has a good understanding of MTC contracts and the Property Services Agency schedule of rates preferably within an MOD environment (whilst not essential). This would suit someone who is self-motivated and has a background in a commercial or finance role. You must take pride in your work and recognise improvement opportunities.
