About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the South West Wales Cancer Centre, a highly specialised regional service with advanced radiotherapy, SACT, clinical trials, and strong academic links with Swansea University.
You will join a friendly, forward‑thinking team delivering high‑quality care for lung cancer and sarcoma patients across South West Wales.
Responsibilities:
1. Delivering SACT for lung cancer and sarcoma patients
2. Participating in lung and sarcoma MDTs (Monday & Wednesday mornings)
3. Managing approximately 200 new lung cancer patients and 25 new sarcoma patients per year
4. Providing cross‑cover for lung oncology colleagues
5. Supporting junior doctors, CNS teams, pharmacists, and SPRs
6. Contributing to service development, governance, and audits
7. Participating in the 1:22 non‑resident on‑call rota
8. Engaging in teaching, training, and research activities

What We're Looking For
Essential:
18. MBBS or equivalent medical degree
19. Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
20. A current Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or PVG check - or a willingness to undergo one as part of the registration process
21. UK Right to Work
22. Strong communication and teamworking skills
Desirable:
23. CCT in Oncology (or within 6 months of achieving it)
