Job Description
The Installation Supervisor will be responsible for all aspects of the installation works of sortation/material handling systems, including Health & Safety, Quality, and Progress. They will manage subcontractors, plan equipment deliveries in line with the project schedule, and ensure installation is on schedule and meets quality standards.
This role provides key support to the project team for successful installation project execution. The supervisor will coordinate activities of workers engaged in installation or modification of equipment, ensuring high-quality work is performed safely to meet project goals.
The candidate can be based anywhere between Heathrow and the North West but must be flexible to travel at least 80% of the time, including weekdays, nights, weekends, with frequent overnight stays.
Leadership and Teamwork
* Experience managing multi-discipline teams (mechanical/electrical) in construction, with an electrical background preferred.
* Attend site meetings and produce documentation aligned with contractor, client, and company requirements.
* Effective communication skills are essential.
* Promote safe, reliable construction and maintenance activities, complying with relevant codes and regulations.
* Follow project scope, contract details, and interface with project stakeholders to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
* Participate in project meetings and daily briefings.
* Manage mechanical installation activities and keep the Project Manager updated.
* Maintain professional relationships with site and project personnel, representing BEUMER on site.
* Follow change management processes and report deviations.
* Ensure adherence to BEUMER Group processes.
* Assign tasks and coordinate workflows to meet schedules.
* Maintain a clean site and ensure compliance by contractors and personnel.
* Travel 80-90% domestically and internationally.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Technical and Quality
* Support supervision of contractors and review drawings, RFQs, and quality checklists.
* Assist in preparing RFQs for mechanical installation and logistics projects.
* Support startup and commissioning of equipment, including communication and safety circuits.
* Review mechanical drawings before project start.
* Ensure high-quality mechanical installation and materials compliance.
* Manage site logistics, sourcing materials, and proposing cost-effective solutions.
* Secure site and equipment safely.
* Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
* Electrical engineering background (HNC/HND or equivalent) preferred.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety and experience with Material Handling systems installation.
* Certifications like CSCS, SSSTS, SMSTS, First Aid, IPAF, IOSH, NEBOSH are preferred.
* Hands-on electrical experience.
* Ability to travel up to 80%, domestically and internationally.
* Strong planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Professional demeanor, initiative, discretion, and confidentiality.
* Time management and customer service skills.
* Computer literacy: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
* Valid Driving License.
