– Competitive dependant on experience
Hours
- Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week with flexible, hybrid working – after successful completion of probation period
Holiday
– 25 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays) increasing by one day per each year of service (up to a maximum of 30 days)

We have an exciting new role for a
Tax Assistant
to join our
Stanley, County Durham
office.
You will join a dynamic tax team with a high-quality client base and rapidly gain responsibility whilst at the same time completing your qualifications with us.
Key responsibilities of a Tax Assistant will include:
* Carry out simple tax advisory service lines to a high quality and customer service level.
* Ensure all clients are aware and meet corporation tax or other tax related deadlines.
* Drafting and completion of self-assessment tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and trusts.
* Preparing statutory documentation.
* Administrative support for the tax department (i.e. chasing client information, corresponding with HMRC (Telephone, Email, Letters) etc.
* Dealing with HMRC queries.
* Ad-hoc duties as required.
About you
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
* Minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience within an accountancy practice.
* Working towards ATT/CTA qualification.
* Experience with accountancy systems such as CCH, Xero, Sage.
* Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Office
* Must be an efficient and personable communicator.
* Flexible work attitude; be a pro-active team player.
* Able to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
* Drive to keep learning and ability to adapt to change.
* Problem solver with strong written & numeracy skills.
* Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail.
* Excellent integrity & ethical standards.
