Shop Assistant – Penrith – Afternoons
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 4 on, 4 off – 2pm to 10pm
Salary: £12.65 per hour
Location: Penrith
NXT Recruitment are working with a well-regarded family business to recruit a Shop Assistant for afternoon shifts at their Penrith site.
You’ll be working closely with a small, friendly team, keeping the store running smoothly and providing great customer service.
Responsibilities include:
1. Keeping the shop and forecourt clean and safe
2. Cleaning the coffee machine to Costa requirements
3. Recording all necessary fridge and food temperatures
4. Replenishing shelves and displays
5. Filling cigarette units before shift-end
6. Organising the newspaper and magazine stands
7. Flattening cardboard and managing waste correctly
Ideal candidate profile:
8. Confident with customers and a team player
9. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
10. Trustworthy with money and security awareness
11. Flexible and willing to learn
12. A driving licence is desirable but not essential for local applicants
