We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals with experience in Drama, Dance, Art, Music, or Media to join schools in Lancaster as Creative Arts Teaching Assistants.
This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your creativity into the classroom, support young people in their learning, and gain valuable experience in a school setting.
The Role
As a Creative Arts Teaching Assistant, you’ll be working closely with teachers and students to enrich the learning environment through the use of creative disciplines. You will:
1. Support pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
2. Help engage learners through creative approaches
3. Build strong, positive relationships with children to support their emotional and educational development
4. Use your artistic background to inspire and motivate young people
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience for anyone considering a career in education, therapy, youth work, or any role involving children and young people.
The Schools
We are offering roles across a range of settings in Lancaster, including:
5. Primary and Secondary Mainstream Schools
6. Special Educational Needs (SEND) Schools
7. Further Education (FE) Settings
You will be supporting children with a variety of needs, including those with learning barriers or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Flexible working patterns are available to suit your availability.
Requirements
To be considered for the role of Creative Arts Teaching Assistant, you must:
8. Have at least 5 days’ experience working with children or young people
9. Possess a warm, approachable personality and a genuine interest in supporting pupils
10. Have a background in one or more creative arts disciplines (Drama, Music, Art, Dance, Media)
