Overview
This is a hands-on Field Service position in the Life Sciences division, contributing to the advancement of life-saving medicines and related products. The role involves customer service, technical maintenance, and field support.
What You Will Do
* Drive customer satisfaction through proactive communication and commitment to resolving customers’ issues or problems.
* Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on STERIS and related product lines in a safe and efficient manner, including disassembly, replacement or repair of parts, rewiring or reassembling as required, troubleshooting, adjusting/calibrating, and certifying equipment for use using standard and specialized tools and test equipment (e.g., schematics, diagrams, technical manuals).
* Perform administrative duties to ensure effective planning and documentation, including communicating schedule changes, verifying computer synchronization, completing service reports within two business days after a visit, maintaining on-site logs, and keeping tools and parts inventory at prescribed levels.
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers, managers, support functions, and the sales organization. Communicate activities related to scheduling Preventive Maintenance and ETA for unscheduled work. Proactively respond to and resolve customer problems/issues using product and industry knowledge to exceed customer expectations.

* Identify sales opportunities and communicate leads to management and sales staff to support company growth.
* Respond to routine customer and sales questions regarding equipment operation and performance.
* Identify opportunities, sizing, utility requirements, on-site visits, and pre-installation evaluations. Provide timely service calls, warranty calls, field upgrade programs, etc.
* Maintain courteous and professional demeanor when working with customers, contractors, management, and fellow employees. Follow customer protocols and all STERIS and customer health and safety protocols and procedures.
* Learning period approximately six to twelve months.
Required Experience
* Completion of a recognized mechanical, electrical, or electronic qualification. Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in electronics, mechanical, or a similar discipline preferred.
* Two (2) years of related experience.
* General knowledge of cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and GEP (Good Engineering Practice) as used in pharmaceutical and research environments.
Preferred Experience
* Strong customer communications skills with ability to build positive rapport and partner with various customers.
* Proficiency with computers and Windows software; familiarity with web technologies and navigating internet/intranet sites.
* Ability to work independently without supervision and manage multiple changing priorities.
* Flexibility to work outside normal business hours and travel as required.
* Valid Driver’s License. Knowledge of English language is essential.
