Legal Secretary
Location: Macclesfield
Salary: Up to £27,000
Job Purpose
To provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to fee earners and senior management within a legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Liaising with fee earners, barristers, courts, and third parties regarding conferences and court hearings
* Providing high-level secretarial support to senior management
* Preparing legal correspondence and documentation via audio and copy typing
* Communicating with clients, courts, and external parties as required
* Attending court to file and deliver documentation when necessary
* Liaising with insurers and third parties to chase outstanding matters
* Following up with courts for documentation and updates
* Preparing trial bundles and settlement packs
* Coordinating client availability for conferences and medical appointments
* Listening to call recordings and producing accurate transcripts
* Preparing documents for signature and completion
Skills
* Accurate data input
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and case management systems
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong organisational and administrative skills
* Clear written and verbal communication
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ability to manage workloads effectively under pressure
Knowledge
* Understanding of compensation claims processes
* Experience using legal case management systems
Experience
* Previous administrative experience within a legal setting
* Confident PC and telephone use
