Senior Site Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Engineer/Manager to manage a new build educational project. The successful candidate will liaise with site staff and sub‑contractors, coordinating civil/structural works and ensuring all site activities meet the highest HSQE standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with purchasing and acquisition of all BOQ items.
* Plan and manage civil structural installations timelines.
* Support completion of projects on time and within budget.
* Write engineering reports, method statements and commissioning schedules.
* Manage Health & Safety documentation and enforce safe work practices.
* Ensure technical assessments are completed and issues resolved promptly.
* Manage submittals, procurement tracking and receipt verification.
* Coordinate with design team & supply chain to ensure compliance.
* Attend quality meetings, QA/QC walk downs.
* Evaluate RFI responses for engineering consistency.
* Respond to technical queries from site regarding specifications and materials.
* Ensure site supervisors and sub‑contractors adhere to latest drawings.
* Issue requisitions and manage material deliveries against specifications.
* Conduct sub‑contractor inspections and report findings.
* Chair and manage critical interface technical meetings.
* Deliver projects on time and to high quality.
* Report directly to senior management (Contracts Manager & Project Director).
* Provide accurate, consistent records and reports.
* Motivate and manage site teams.
* Conduct risk assessments.
* Follow construction drawings and work information to fine detail.
* Survey sites to mitigate design issues.
* Organise and coordinate labour.
* Negotiate contracts with subcontractors.
Key Competencies and Skills
* PC skills: ACAD, MS Office, project software.
* Knowledge of contract conditions.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong engineering and analytical problem‑solving abilities.
* Collaborative teamwork capabilities.
* Organise and schedule technical meetings with clients and consultants.
* Prioritise, plan and meet deadlines.
Requirements
* Third level Civil or Mechanical Engineering degree.
* 3+ years experience in a similar role.
* Full EU/Irish driving licence.
* Sound knowledge of engineering, construction and design.
* Self‑motivated, initiative‑driven.
* Strong team‑building skills.
* Track record of completing projects from start to finish.
* Analytical and decision‑making skills.
* Technical and practical knowledge of the building industry.
* Relevant 3rd‑party H&S site management training.
