Job Description About Me About Me Hello, I am a 10-year-old boy who lives at home with my dad, grandmother, grandfather, two uncles, one auntie, and my younger cousin. My dad is married, but my stepmum does not yet live with us. My family describe me as strong-minded, happy, and active. I enjoy cuddles, playing with my noisy toys, listening to Disney nursery songs, and seeing my friends and teachers at school. Although I do not have siblings, I have cousins who visit me regularly, and I always look forward to spending time with them. My Needs and Development I was born with Spastic Cerebral Palsy, which has affected my growth and development. I also have Profound Global Developmental Delay, meaning I am behind other children my age and need a high level of support in all areas of daily life. I am unable to speak; however, I understand what is being said to me. I communicate through my facial expressions and body language: When I am happy, I laugh and make cooing sounds When I am unhappy or uncomfortable, I cry It is very important that people supporting me take time to understand these signals. My Physical Health and Mobility I have additional conditions including: Dystonia Spastic quadriplegia Scoliosis These affect my mobility. I: Use a wheelchair Have limited movement in my limbs Cannot control my head movements I also need to wear a body brace daily to support my posture. Medical Needs I previously experienced frequent seizures; however, these are now well-controlled with medication. I am unable to eat or drink by mouth and receive all my nutrition and medication through a gastrostomy (PEG). This was required following severe gastro-oesophageal reflux, and I have had a fundoplication procedure. I previously had small tastes of soft foods like yoghurt, but this is currently paused due to increased vomiting. Feeding and Health Risks I experience frequent daily vomiting, which puts me at risk of: Aspiration Chest infections I am also at risk of gastrostomy site infections if proper care is not maintained. To support my health, it is essential that: My PEG site is cleaned daily The water in my PEG balloon is changed weekly My feeding plan, provided by my dietician, is followed carefully Good nutrition is very important for my: Growth and weight Overall health Skin condition My Wellbeing I really enjoy: Spending time with my family Taking part in cultural and spiritual celebrations Being involved in activities with support Please always respect my needs and include me in family life. Support Needs To help me develop safely and feel secure, I need: A consistent home and school routine A safe, well-supported environment Caregivers who understand my communication and medical needs With the right support, I can continue to enjoy my life, engage with others, and feel happy and comfortable.
