Overview
This is a great time to join The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as Elective Admissions Coordinator.
The role is responsible for monitoring and auditing trust data received from Information Department, interrogating waiting list tables in the Patient Administration System to ensure no patients breach national access, booking and choice targets of 100%, working in line with the Trust Patient Access policy.
The coordinator will also ensure synchrony between outpatient and inpatient waiting lists to enable tracking of patient pathway target times for the national 18‑week pathway, requiring extensive joint working with colleagues across the Trust.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead daily liaison with Consultant Surgeons, Consultant Anaesthetists and named Theatre Coordinators across sites to ensure elective inpatient diaries are consistently booked with maximum utilisation and that special/individual equipment for theatres is ordered in a timely fashion to avoid cancellations and meet national targets.
* Schedule patients for surgery with agreed dates, ensuring that activity and performance targets for the Trust are met in line with national HCC targets.
* Create and maintain the daily bed list, both paper‑based and electronically.
* Liaise daily with Ward Managers, Discharge Coordinators and Site Practitioners to ensure a smooth, seamless pathway for elective inpatients.
* Provide inpatient booking data information in compliance with national initiatives and act as the first point of contact for queries from clinicians, staff and patients.
* Regularly monitor inpatient pre‑operative clinics, review clinic rules and profiles, and make recommendations to enable regional targets to be met in a timely fashion.
* Provide regular performance monitoring reports on patient pathway progress to the Elective Inpatient Manager for dissemination to weekly Waiting List Meetings and the General Managers.
