Job Summary
Ambipar Site Services is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our team as an Apprentice HGV Technician. This role is ideal for someone passionate about vehicle mechanics and eager to gain hands-on experience while working towards a recognised qualification in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance.
You'll work alongside experienced technicians, learning how to inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), while maintaining accurate records and ensuring workshop safety.
Responsibilities
* Assist with routine inspections and servicing of HGVs
* Learn to identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
* Support the repair and replacement of vehicle components
* Maintain workshop cleanliness and follow safety protocols
* Accurately complete job cards and maintenance records
* Attend off-site training sessions as part of the apprenticeship programme
* Follow guidance from mentors and supervisors to develop technical skills
Person Specification
Essential:
* Genuine interest in vehicle mechanics and engineering
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Willingness to learn and follow instructions
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills
* Full UK Driving Licence
Desired:
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science
* Familiarity with tools and workshop environments
Training & Development
* Enrolment in a Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship
* Supervision and mentoring by qualified technicians
* Regular progress reviews and skills development
* College day release for formal training
