Job description
Let's keep this simple.
If you enjoy being out in front of clients, spotting opportunities others miss, and building proper long-term relationships - this will make sense.
If you prefer hiding behind email and spreadsheets, it won't.
I'm working on a role for an Insurance Development Executive - although I'd also speak to an experienced Account Handler ready to step up into a more client-facing, new business position.
This is a road-based role, covering England and Wales, so yes - you'll need a full driving licence and you'll need to enjoy being out meeting people.
What you'll actually be doing
1. Meeting prospective clients and properly fact-finding their risks
2. Conducting genuine zero-based insurance reviews
3. Working closely with underwriters to secure competitive terms
4. Presenting and selling insurance proposals confidently
5. Building a profitable book of business
A strong background in commercial motor fleet is essential. That's the backbone here.
What matters (and what doesn't)
Most important? Attitude.
You need to:
6. Bring energy and professionalism to every client interaction
7. Be proactive - no waiting to be told what to do
8. Spot opportunities to grow accounts
9. Be commercially aware
10. Work well with a team but back yourself when needed
11. Handle change without losing your head
Integrity isn't optional - it's expected.
What's in it for you
12. 26 days holiday + bank holidays
13. Structured progression opportunities
14. Support with CII / ACII qualifications
15. Pension scheme
16. 24/7 wellbeing support
17. 1 paid volunteering day per year
18. Basic salary + role-based incentive plan
But more importantly - the opportunity to build a proper career within a growing business that backs its people.
