Are you an organised and detail-focused finance professional looking for your next opportunity? We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established business in Ledbury for a Sales Ledger Clerk to join their friendly and supportive finance team. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of the sales ledger function and contribute to the smooth running of monthly accounts processes.
The Role
As a Sales Ledger Clerk, you'll be responsible for a wide range of tasks across invoicing, payment processing, and customer account management. This is a hands-on role where you'll play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring excellent service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Creating and issuing invoices via ERP systems, EDI platforms, and customer portals
* Investigating and resolving customer queries, including raising credit notes
* Maintaining communication with customers to ensure prompt query resolution
* Processing non-stock invoices (e.g. pallet storage services)
* Daily updates of pricing and promotional information in the system
* Handling returns and delivery note processing
* Emailing invoices to customers in a timely manner
* Posting payments to customer accounts
* Managing banking, petty cash, gratuities, and driver remittances
* Recording charges to company credit cards
* Providing cover for colleagues during holidays or absences
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Previous experience in a Sales Ledger, Finance, or Cashier role
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
* Comfortable building rapport with colleagues and customers
* Confident IT user with experience in finance systems
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage priorities effectively
Desirable:
* Experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
