Role Details:
* Rate of Pay / Hours: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus bonus, TRONC, generous benefits, training & development, 37.5 hours/week
* Contract Type: Permanent
* Location: Reading
* Reporting to: General Manager and Head of Meetings & Events
Description: To maximize Meetings & Events revenue, meeting room occupancy, and achieve budgets.
Objectives & Responsibilities:
* Work with the Head of M&E and Regional Events Manager to drive standards, processes, product, and M&E revenues.
* Manage meeting, private dining, and wedding inquiries, ensuring business is negotiated to suit hotel needs.
* Monitor enquiry levels and conversion rates weekly.
* Plan and manage M&E team absences and holidays to ensure resource availability.
* Set and review pricing for day delegate rates, room hire, and F&B minimum spends in collaboration with the Regional M&E Manager.
* Develop skills of the M&E team through personal development and training.
* Drive occupancy and revenue from meeting and event spaces and catering.
* Manage M&E offices according to SOPs, ensuring best practices and passing audits.
* Ensure correct use of Opera Sales and Catering system for inquiries, contracts, and function sheets.
* Ensure timely payments, deposits, and credit checks for clients.
* Support client activities and revenue relationships with the Region Director of Sales.
* Assist weekly M&E forecasting, analyzing performance against targets, and planning actions.
* Achieve annual and quarterly KRAs, revenue targets, and budgets.
* Foster respect and teamwork within the regional events team.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Manage finances, including budget understanding, forecasting, and upselling opportunities.
* Handle inquiries with high standards, including via phone, email, and third-party sites.
* Maintain high service levels, ensuring event setup meets guest requirements and safety standards.
* Develop relationships with guests and internal teams to maximize sales and repeat business.
* Train and motivate team members, including new operational leaders.
* Manage lead and enquiry processes, ensuring high-quality data entry and follow-up.
* Attend sales visits, presentations, and industry events as required.

* Ensure health and safety regulations are followed, hazards are removed, and safety procedures are known.
* Maintain personal hygiene, dress code, and cleanliness standards.
