The Opportunity
An established national law firm is seeking an Employment Solicitor or FCILEx Lawyer to join its Employment team. This is a remote-first role, offering full flexibility to work from home, with the option to attend offices in Leeds or Bristol should the successful candidate wish.
The role involves managing a caseload of Legal Expenses Insurer matters, alongside exposure to non-contentious employment work. There is also potential scope for supervising junior case handlers, depending on experience.
This opportunity would suit an employment law professional with a genuine interest in the field, who enjoys delivering practical, commercial advice within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities
* Advising clients on potential Employment Tribunal claims
* Managing a caseload of Employment Tribunal matters, including:
o Drafting pleadings and witness statements
o Negotiating settlements and advising on settlement agreements
o Instructing counsel or advocates where required
* Ensuring compliance with Legal Expenses Insurer service level agreements
* Assisting with non-contentious employment matters, including:
o Drafting employment contracts, handbooks, and related documentation
o Providing reactive and proactive employment advice to commercial clients
o Telephone-based employment law advice
* Contributing to marketing and business development initiatives, including:
o Writing employment law updates
o Delivering client training sessions
* Ensuring accurate, timely, and commercially focused advice
* Progressing files via a case management system
* Time recording, billing, and invoicing
Skills & Competencies
Essential:
* Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or FCILEx
* Strong interest and passion for employment law
* Commercially minded with a practical approach to problem-solving
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong communication and time management skills
* Ability to manage cases independently, with appropriate supervision
* Collaborative team player
* Ability to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines
* Organised, proactive, and positive approach
Experience Required
* Previous employment law experience or demonstrable employment law knowledge
* Experience managing an employment law caseload
