Who are Step Into Teaching?
We are a pre-teacher training programme designed to support and encourage graduates like yourself to step confidently into the world of education. We offer one full academic year of practical, school-based experience – the perfect foundation for a long-term, successful career in teaching, educational psychology, or SEND support. This experience will help you qualify for teacher training and give you real insight into whether a career in education is the right path for you.
What can we offer?
We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join a vibrant and inclusiveprimary school in WS1 (Walsall)as aSEN Teaching Assistant. The school is keen to find a graduate who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and has a genuine interest in a future career in education or psychology.
For this role, the ideal graduate will:
* Hold a degree in Psychology or a related subject (2:2 or above)
* Be patient, empathetic, and motivated to support young learners with SEND
* Be a proactive and adaptable team player with a can-do attitude
* Be enthusiastic about making learning accessible, inclusive, and engaging
* Show excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Be reflective, reliable, and keen to develop professionally
* Have an interest in becoming a teacher or pursuing a career in educational psychology
The opportunity:
* WS1 (Walsall)
* Full-time role: Monday - Friday
* Start Date: September
* £480 - £520 per week – term time only
