As a Part-time SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to develop personalised learning plans that cater to the unique requirements of each student. Your role will involve regularly assessing and modifying these plans to ensure they remain relevant and effective in supporting the students' progress. By offering individual and small group interventions, you will help students enhance their knowledge and skills using proven, evidence-based strategies. Your guidance will be instrumental in assisting students to grasp various concepts and apply them in practical situations.
Responsibilities
* Partner with teachers to develop individualised learning plans that cater to the specific needs of each student, regularly reviewing and adapting these plans to maintain their effectiveness and relevance.
* Provide one-on-one and small group interventions to support students in enhancing their knowledge and skills, employing evidence-based strategies to aid in their understanding of various concepts and practical applications.
* Instruct and reinforce effective study techniques, assisting students in comprehending and engaging with their studies, while encouraging positive interactions and modelling appropriate behaviour.
* Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement learning strategies that foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, addressing learning challenges and promoting a culture of respect and cooperation.
* Maintain comprehensive records of students' progress and interventions, providing regular updates to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties to ensure a coordinated approach to each student's development.
* Work in tandem with counsellors, social workers, and other professionals to address the broader needs of students and their families, ensuring that students receive comprehensive support.
Qualifications / Ideal Candidate
