The Assistant File Handler will work under a Lead File Handler within the Disease department, managing a caseload of Hourly Rate Industrial Disease claims, including but not limited to NIHL (Noise Induced Hearing Loss), WRULD (Work-Related Upper Limb Disorder), and other disease cases. The role involves performing delegated tasks to progress and resolve files efficiently, aiming for favorable outcomes for clients at appropriate profitability levels.
Key Accountabilities
* Review documents and prepare reports
* Handle disclosure processes
* Review evidence, including records
* Conduct investigations with insured parties and obtain witness statements
* Instruct Counsel and Experts
* Conduct research
* Attend conferences and trials with Counsel
* Manage routine correspondence
* Attend court appointments
* Liaise with and take instructions from insurers and insureds
* Ensure adherence to court timetables
* Maintain compliance with SRA Standards & Regulations

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
* Proficient in handling disease cases, with NIHL as a minimum requirement
* Ability to use initiative
