DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist Workshop & Drivers with routine maintenance and repairs on all makes of Vehicles and Trailers Repair & Manage Minor Defects at site level for all Fleet Vehicles & Trailers Make & Maintain Defect Records Liaise with Workshop Controller, Workshop Manager, Fitters, Drivers & Wider Transport Team Show flexibility & adaptability with strong team work ethic, able to problem solve, prioritise & make key decisions where necessary, work independently when required Ensure all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully & that all relevant precautions are taken & company processes followed at all times. Make sensible, informed & safety critical decisions regarding vehicle compliance & roadworthiness. Work safely to ensure health & safety regulations & safe working practices are adhered to at all times Maintain a High Standard of Cleanliness and Tidiness, vehicle & work areas Attend Call Outs & Provide Out of Hours support where required for all sites Assist with tyre & wheel safety, operations, fitting, fleet inspection & repairs, all sites, as required Carry Out Fleet Checks on All Vehicles & Trailers on all Sites as Required Maintain the company vehicle in a clean & roadworthy condition Assist with management of Parts & Tyre stock inventory, conduct stock takes as required. Recording of all Parts used against the relevant job card accurately & in a timely manner to ensure all costs are captured for all work carried out for fleet repairs, maintenance, and tyres. Signing off for all completed jobs on job card for all work carried out, in a timely manner. Play a key part in ensuring Vehicle Down Time is kept to a minimum across all Group Fleets. Tyre Process Compliance, ensure all identified & required tyre work & re torques are carried out correctly, safely & record keeping maintained accurately. Utilise Chosen Technology, Systems & Platforms Thoroughly & Efficiently in order to Maintain Asset Compliance. Ensure a Continuous Improvement Mindset is Employed to Improve & Streamline Processes & Practices, Driving Forward Change & Presenting Ideas & Suggestions that Promote Growth & Efficiency for the Fleet. Flexibility to Assist with any other tasks &/or duties as required by Transport & Workshop Functions Actively Contribute to the Transport Team Effort, build a Strong Culture of Collaboration, Cooperation, Supporting other Team Members & Head of Transport. Understand & leverage the company’s operating systems & communication devices, use the systems & devices provided correctly to fully benefit the operation. Vehicle management: liaison with Drivers, Workshop & Transport Managers, ensure driver & vehicle legal compliance is maintained consistently & always Communicate Effectively, Clearly, Respectfully with All Team Members, Drivers, Subcontractors, Colleagues, Internal & External Contacts, Customers & Business Partners, maintain Productive working relationships with all Personnel & Departments. Act in Accordance with the Companies Health & Safety Policies, Procedures & Standards, Maintain Compliance with Current Legislation & Environmental Regulations, highlight any issues appropriately, ensure knowledge is kept up to date with any changes to industry standards, regulations & statutes. Comply with Company Target Setting, Goals & Quality Standards To Perform any other duties required by the business as directed by Senior Management. Show Empathy, Kindness & Compassion towards Work Colleagues & other Team Members Hours: 05:00 am – 16:30 pm 30-minute break Minimum of 48 hours Good Salary dependent on person skills and experience Required: HGV licence or be prepared to train towards qualification Technical qualification City & Guilds or NVQ qualified or prepared to work towards Tyre operational experience would be an advantage with relevant qualification Relevant experience in a similar role an advantage Basic working Knowledge, Skills & Experience of Maintaining a Varied Fleet of Vehicles & Trailers Mobile working will be required, regular site visits will form part of this role
