WHAT WILL YOU DO? A Senior Test Engineer is driven by the desire to produce the best products for our customers, identifying risks and minimising defects. This starts with involvement with the product team in story discovery and sprint planning, through to working iteratively with the developers during a sprint to build the best solutions through testing and short feedback loops. They also provide third line support for the production software and environment. You will have an exciting and varied role, but your main responsibilities will include; Participates in story discovery with a focus on preventing defects through identifying risks up front Collaborates with the product team to write and maintain testable user stories including acceptance criteria Participates in sprint planning ensuring all testing requirements and effort is taken into account Works alongside developers taking a continuous testing approach ensuring short feedback loops throughout the sprint Creates and manages a suite of automated and manual regression tests Deploys releases to production Notifies the business of releases into production Performs third line support Identifies, replicates and documents bugs found in production, including assessment of impact and priority Assist in monitoring the production environment during incidents and resolving if required. Contributes to improvements to team processes Lives the agile principles and participates in agile ceremonies: sprint planning, sprint review, retrospectives Coaches and mentors more junior colleagues WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE CONSIDERED? We know that you will have a wide range of skills and experience, but having some of the following would help you thrive in this role; Wide ranging experience in different aspects of software testing across a variety of environments An inquisitive personality - you should be someone who sees a problem and wants to know why it has happened, not just fixing it. Cloud application testing experience Have a great attitude to learning new skills, excited by the opportunity to grow and develop in this role Be a great team player and able to build and maintain solid working relationships with team members and stakeholders. Open and honest, able to provide positive and constructive feedback in a thoughtful manner. Experience working following Agile methodologies SQL knowledge and experience It would also be beneficial (but absolutely not essential) for you to have any of the following skills; JavaScript Postman Any automation testing tools Qualifications such as ISTQB Experience working in the legal or accounting sector, or knowledge of how a law firm/accounting firm works WHY WORK FOR US?
