Position:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist based at Rainbow House, Ayrshire Central Hospital.

What you will do:

You will work with occupational therapy colleagues in the delivery of occupational therapy assessment and treatment interventions for children and young people referred to the service and will include working with families / carers. The successful candidate will be core to multi-disciplinary service provision, participating in the ongoing development of innovative models of care, utilising evidence-based practice and strengths-based approaches within the service. You will be expected and encouraged to participate in service improvement.

The role will involve promotion and education to relevant stakeholders. It is therefore essential that you possess effective communication skills, which will include presentation skills, written reporting skills and interpersonal skills. You will also be required to develop effective networks with colleagues across health, local authority and partner agencies.

Clinical and line management supervision and caseload allocation will be undertaken in collaboration with Band 6 occupational therapy staff.

Support and development are promoted and encouraged through a variety of forums including participation in practice development groups, locality meetings, band 5 development group and additional in house and external training.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

A Diploma, BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy or within 6 months completion of a BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy are essential requirements.

Successful applicant whose registration is pending would be aligned to a band 4 Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner role until such times as their HCPC registration is complete.

You will require to complete/have completed Flying Start.

Hours:

35.52 hours (non-rotational) per week.

UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership:

A UK car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.
