Santander Digital Services is the team of technology and operations at Santander. Our team of over, people in countries (Spain, Portugal, Poland, UK, USA, Mexico, Chile and Brazil) develops and/or implements financial solutions across a broad spectrum of technologies (including Blockchain, Big Data and Angular among others) on all kinds of on-premise and cloud-based platforms.

THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE

Santander UK is looking for a Framework & Strategy Manager based out of Unity Place, Milton Keynes or Glasgow.

The purpose of the role is to oversee the entire lifecycle of data within the organisation from acquisition and storage to analysis and dissemination. Responsible for ensuring that data assets are managed effectively, securely and in compliance with regulations and organisational policies.

We’re shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for:

1. Designing, implementing, and maintaining Operational Resilience frameworks and strategy, aligned to regulatory and internal governance standards.

2. Leading annual Op Res self-assessments and regulatory reporting (ERCC, BRC) with strong data accuracy, traceability, and auditability controls.

3. Developing and embedding data governance policies, controls, and standards to ensure compliance with regulations such as GDPR.

4. Architecting and optimising data structures, data flows, and information management systems to support resilience, reporting, and analytics.

5. Implementing data quality frameworks, including controls for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability across systems.

6. Managing data integration across multiple platforms and sources, ensuring consistency across Board, regulatory, and audit narratives.

7. Collaborating with LOD and LOD to ensure robust risk management, governance alignment, and control effectiveness.

8. Driving data-led insights and analytics to support strategic decision-making and operational resilience outcomes.

Professional Experience

9. Experience designing and implementing data governance frameworks, data management models, or regulatory frameworks (Required).

10. Proven experience in operational resilience, risk management, or regulatory reporting within financial services (Required).

11. Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders (technology, risk, audit, governance) in complex organisations (Required).

12. Experience delivering data-driven transformation or change initiatives (Preferred).

Education

13. Undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Data Management, Computer Science, or related field (Preferred).

14. Professional certifications in Data Management, Risk, or Governance (e.g. DAMA, COBIT, ISO, or equivalent) (Preferred).

Languages

15. English (Required).

Hard Skills

16. Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality management, and information architecture (Required).

17. Expertise in data regulations and compliance (e.g. GDPR, internal governance standards) (Required).

18. Experience with data management tools, data modelling, and data integration techniques (Required).

19. Understanding of data risk management frameworks and control design (Required).

20. Knowledge of data architecture methodologies (e.g. data flows, lineage, metadata management) (Preferred).

Soft Skills

21. Strong analytical and problem-solving capability (Required)

22. Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business insights (Required)

23. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills (Required)

24. Ability to lead change and influence across multiple levels of the organisation (Required)

25. Salary Range:

This salary range represents the expected remuneration for the role. Annual salary is based on a standard -hour working week. Actual salary offered will depend on skills, experience, qualifications and location.
