We’re looking for a Credit Acquisition Lead (Technical Specialist) to shape and optimise our motor finance credit framework. You’ll be the go-to expert on credit policy, decisioning rules, and analytics, helping drive compliant, effective, and profitable growth across the credit lifecycle.

What will your day look like?
1. Translate credit strategy and risk appetite into policies, decisioning rules, and underwriting guidance.
2. Maintain and optimise credit frameworks, scorecards, rulesets, and automated/manual underwriting pathways.
3. Monitor acquisition performance, analyse risks, and recommend improvements to controls, scorecards, and processes.
4. Ensure all credit activities comply with FCA regulations, Consumer Duty, affordability standards, and TCF outcomes.
5. Provide expert technical advice and analytical insights to underwriting, commercial teams, and senior stakeholders.
6. Lead and support operational improvements, system updates, and cross-functional credit initiatives.
What do we expect from you?
Essential:
7. Extensive experience in credit risk within motor finance, automotive lending, or asset finance.
8. Expertise in credit policy, underwriting rules, affordability frameworks, and bureau data.
9. Strong analytical skills with ability to turn data into actionable recommendations.
10. Knowledge of credit decisioning systems, scoring methods, and rule engines.
11. Ability to document complex policies clearly and logically.
12. Understanding of FCA regulations, Consumer Duty, affordability, and conduct requirements.
13. Confident communicator with ability to influence stakeholders using evidence-based reasoning.
Desirable:
14. Experience with risk-based pricing or behavioural scorecards.
15. Understanding of motor finance distribution channels (dealers, brokers, introducers).
16. Involvement in digital decisioning, automation, or transformation projects.
17. Familiarity with SAS, SQL, or analytics tools (or ability to interpret outputs).
