Day to Day Duties
* Produce manufacturing models and drawings from architectural and design intent drawings for approval and construction.
* Ensure all drawings and models are produced in line with EES manufacturing and drawing standards.
* Adhere to specific project standards such as naming conventions, numbering protocols, and standard details.
* Use drawing check sheets before and during the drawing process to ensure accuracy.
* Produce drawings within allocated time frames and budgets.
* Report to Lead CAD Technician regarding any issues with design, costs, or timeframes.
* Ensure critical dimensions are included on all drawings.
* Read and understand Architectural Specifications to ensure EES drawings meet requirements, raising deviations with Lead CAD Technician.
* Detail all ironmongery and equipment accurately.
* Use internal and architectural models to derive up-to-date drawing information where relevant.
* Attend project design meetings and liaise with the project team when required.
* Output models in the required format for inclusion in the project model and for CNC where relevant.
* When modelling joinery, ensure cutting lists are populated with component details, IDs, and panel sizes, and produce ID-tagged paper space.
* Ensure survey instructions are followed accurately by third parties and checked by the CAD technician.
* Keep survey instructions and actual surveys stored on the server within the drawing job file.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date time records/sheets.
* Liaise with factory regarding details and buildability.
* Liaise with purchasing for advice on bought-in items such as metalworks, glass, and fabrics.
* Coordinate with all departments to fulfill contractual requirements.
* Coordinate with subcontractors and ensure drawings are aligned with their interfaces.
* Review cost sheets with Lead CAD Technician prior to starting drawings.
* Provide feedback on variation works for accurate cost recovery by the QS department.
Compliance
* Ensure drawings comply with NBS specifications and current regulations (fire safety, BREEAM, DDA, CDM, etc.).
* Work safely following company procedures, environmental standards (ISO 14001), quality standards (ISO 9001), and statutory H&S regulations.
Pre-Con
* Use HUB for all sample references and drawing trackers.
Ideal Candidate
* Good knowledge of 2D AutoCAD or 3D modeling CAD packages.
* Understanding of joinery industry and manufacturing processes.
* Joinery experience is beneficial but not essential.
