Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic Science Technician to join our team, working across all three Science specialisms, starting asap.
The role involves supporting the delivery of the curriculum within lessons, assisting in the maintenance and preparation of classrooms, apparatus, and materials for staff and students, with a focus on safe, effective, and efficient teaching and learning.
The ideal candidate will have a Science qualification to at least A-level or equivalent, with technician or laboratory experience desirable. They should possess the technical competence for preparing and ordering materials and maintaining machines and equipment. Previous experience working with children, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.
The Science department operates smoothly, with students achieving well across Key stages 3 to 5. Our core purpose is to fully engage students and ignite their curiosity and determination to reach their full potential. Staff benefit from a positive working environment, strong professional development support, and access to three specialist laboratories within a well-equipped science area of 11 laboratories. Our department comprises ten staff members.
We are currently undergoing transformational change, benefitting from a multi-million-pound investment in Tunbridge Wells and a new building at our Sevenoaks campus, opened in September 2021. By September 2025, Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys will be one of the largest boys' grammar schools in the country.
