About the Role:
We're looking for a skilled Setter Technician to join our Production team. This hands-on role is key to ensuring our machinery—including winding, soldering, injection moulding, and inspection equipment—is set up and running efficiently. You'll be responsible for machine setup, changeovers, basic maintenance, and frontline technical support to keep production flowing smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
* Set up and adjust machinery for production runs to meet specification requirements.
* Perform changeovers and initial setups across various equipment types.
* Conduct daily startup checks and ensure machines are ready for operation.
* Provide technical support during the shift, resolving minor faults quickly.
* Monitor machine performance and report recurring issues or improvement opportunities.
* Maintain accurate records of setups and interventions.
* Collaborate with Production Supervisors and Quality Assurance to meet quality and output targets.
* Ensure tools, jigs, fixtures, and materials are available and in good condition.
* Promote and adhere to health, safety, and environmental procedures.
* Offer guidance to machine operators on basic machine functions.
What We're Looking For:
* Experience in a production environment with machine setup and maintenance responsibilities.
* Strong technical understanding of mechanical and/or electromechanical machinery.
* Familiarity with winding, soldering, injection moulding, or inspection equipment (highly desirable).
* Basic fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to read technical drawings or setup instructions.
* Good communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
* Attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
Qualifications:
* NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (desirable).
* Apprenticeship in manufacturing or engineering (preferred).
* Health & Safety training (e.g. manual handling, machine safety) beneficial.
Working Conditions:
* Afternoon shift: 2pm–10pm, Monday to Friday.
* Fast-paced, hands-on role involving physical activity in production areas.
