We are seeking an experienced Registered Care Home Manager to lead our 39-bed residential elderly and dementia care home in Dudley.
This is a full-time CQC Registered Manager position within a CQC Good-rated residential care home, forming part of a stable, family-owned care group. The role is ideal for an experienced Care Home Manager, Residential Manager, or Dementia Care Manager who thrives in a hands-on leadership position and takes pride in maintaining strong compliance, high standards of care, and positive team culture.
About the Role
As the Registered Care Home Manager, you will have full responsibility for the safe and effective running of the service, ensuring continued compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding standards, and best practice in elderly and dementia care.
You will be a visible and supportive presence within the home, providing strong day-to-day operational leadership while maintaining a warm, resident-focused environment.
This role requires someone confident managing compliance, audits, staff performance, and occupancy, while building positive relationships with families, local authorities, and healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
* Act as the named CQC Registered Manager
* Lead the day-to-day management of the residential care home
* Provide clear leadership to care, senior, and support staff
* Oversee staff rotas, recruitment, retention, and performance management
* Maintain strong occupancy levels through effective assessments, local authority relationships, and reputation management.
Compliance & Quality
* Ensure full compliance with CQC standards and the Health & Social Care Act
* Maintain accurate care plans, risk assessments, and resident documentation
* Lead safeguarding processes and clinical risk management
* Oversee medication management and infection control procedures
* Complete audits and implement continuous improvement plans
* Prepare for and manage CQC inspections
Staff Development
* Conduct supervision, appraisals, and mandatory training reviews
* Mentor senior staff and develop future leaders
* Promote a positive, accountable, and supportive team culture
External Relationships
* Liaise with families, GPs, district nurses, and local authority commissioners
* Manage professional relationships with external agencies and stakeholders
What We're Looking For
* Applicants must have previous experience in a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager role within a residential elderly or dementia care home.
* Strong working knowledge of CQC compliance and inspection standards
* Experience managing elderly and dementia care services
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or working towards)
* Proven track record managing safeguarding, audits, and clinical risk
* Strong organisational and decision-making skills
* A hands-on, visible leadership style

Working Hours
Full-time, Monday to Sunday as per rota, with flexibility required to meet the needs of the service.
